Wecome to my diary!

Back to school

My summer break is over and I just started a new school where I'll be studying art for a year. I think I'll let that marinate a bit before I write about it though, just in case I happen to show this site to any of my new classmates, haha! But I'll say I have a good feeling about this.

Instead I'll tell you about what I did after school. These last few years I've tried to hold on to summer for as long as I can by going swimming regularly. Last year my schedule was a lot more open so I often went in the morning, but now I start at 9 every day, and the school is an hour away. So today when classes were over for the day I went scouting for a bathing spot close to the school and found one 15 minutes away. The water was cold like it always is in Sweden, but after a very sweaty day it was perfectly refreshing. I lay in the grass for a while and read a book, before buying an ice-cream and heading home. Why am I writing this? I guess to remind myself that I have control over what I do with my free time, even if it's just something small like this. It's a liberating feeling for an anxious person like myself, I hope you feel the same way!

Meteor shower

I grew up riding a bike but rarely do it these days. The ones I had as a kid were always too small, so now adult bikes feel kinda scary. That said, a friend and I went biking last night to look at the meteor shower. We headed out at 12, so the streets were empty of both cars and people. Just biking was a lot of fun! My friend knew the way so I followed behind her, and she looked so 80s with her jean jacket and curly shag. The place we'd chosen for stargazing is a cove with cliffs above it that we climbed for better vantage. I didn't count all the shooting starts I saw, but they were at least 5! I wish I had had some wishes prepared before hand!! When we got cold we went skinny dipping and then biked home again. She always says that if you're friends for 7 years that means you'll be friends forever. Only one year left and then we'll be locked in for life.

Autumn moving closer...

We still have a couple of warm weeks left, but summer is reaching its end here in Sweden. And even though I'll miss the sun (it's already getting darker!!) this is really one of my favorite times of the year. In August all of my friends are back in town so I can hang out with people as much as I like. The end of summer also means the start of a new term, and I just finished up a bachelor so I'll be attending a new school this next year. I'm really really looking forward to it. The start of autumn is kind of like new year's for me, I start thinking about all the changes I want to make to my routine and how I want my life to be going forward. I'm usually only able to do some of the things I want, but slow progress is the way to go!

Here are some pictures from the summer:

Hello World!

Welcome to the blog within my blog :D I call it my diary but it will probably be more like a hodgepodge of my thoughts on different topics. Maybe some stuff about my own life too, who knows!
